Pembrokeshire really is the land of plenty with its rolling, lush green farmland, stunning coastline and abundantly rich seas. Whilst this provides beautiful views and endless new places to explore, it also means that we have high quality produce grown and harvested in our very own county.
When you’re on holiday, trying the local dishes is part of the fun and Pembrokeshire has an amazing variety of cafés, restaurants and other eating establishments to choose from. Best of all, there are dozens of them within a 25 minute drive from The Little Retreat. From vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free to locally sourced meat and sea-food, Asian influenced dishes to homecooked and homegrown feasts; Pembrokeshire serves up something for all tastes.

This amazing little shop and restaurant started life after local fisherman Gavin saw an opportunity during lockdown and began doing the rounds of the villages to sell his produce. Once restrictions eased, and realising that people still wanted to buy his goods, the shop was born and the restaurant followed soon after. Grass-fed meat, free-range poultry and high quality, freshly caught sea-food are the essential ingredients being served up to delighted carnivores and pescatarians.
Best for Families

Clinging to the side of the Preseli mountains this small but perfectly formed regenerative organic vineyard is the brainchild of Jemma Vickers and Paul Rolt. Planted in 2010, they now produce a red, white and sparkling wine using natural fermentation methods and amphora. A tour of the vineyard is followed by wine tasting and a delicious range of homemade tapas, inspired by Jemma’s time in Spain and using as much local and home-grown produce as possible.
